Great Northern League

Pullman 20 – East Valley 28 Final
Tyler Langerveld and Andre Barrington hooked up for touchdown passes of 7 and 39 yards in the first half, as Pullman jumped out to a 12-0 lead.
However, with the Greyhounds in front 20-14 heading into the fourth quarter, the Knights scored 14 unanswered points to win 28-20.

West Valley 21 – Cheney 7 Final
The Blackhawks failed to score an offensive touchdown, as the Eagles raced out to a 14-0 lead at halftime.

What does this mean?
If Pullman and Cheney would have won, there would have been a four-way tie for first (Clarkston, Deer Park, Cheney and Pullman), meaning the schools would have played a tiebreaker next Tuesday.
However, because West Valley upset Cheney and East Valley beat Pullman, only a three-way tie now exists (Clarkston, Deer Park and East Valley).  The tiebreaker is a little easier to explain thanks to these outcomes.  Clarkston beat both Deer Park and East Valley in league, meaning the Bantams are the outright GNL champions.  Furthermore, Deer Park is the ‘2’ and East Valley is the ‘3’ because the Stag beat the Knights 28-20 earlier in the year.

Hopefully that is simple enough to understand.  If you have any questions, feel free to ask! (jtsports24@gmail.com or leave a comment and I’ll respond)
